• Markets around the world have had one of the strongest starts to the year on record
• Stock markets are sensing the “terminal rate” is close, and that Australia and the US are now likely to have a “soft landing”
• However, the rally is very concentrated, centered around the “Magnificent 7” stocks in the Nasdaq
• Note that APW Partners clients get exposure to these Nasdaq stocks through the international allocation in their portfolios
• The bond market is also indicating the “terminal rate” is close, and will be followed by rate cuts in 2024 as economies slow.
